Banco Sabadell has started up an advertising campaign in order to reinforce its leading position in remote banking via mobile devices.
The campaign, using the slogan "This isn't remote banking, it's taking the bank with you", aims to remind customers that they can carry out most of their financial operations, even when they're away from their home or workplace, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, via their mobile phone.
In a press release Miguel Montes, the bank’s Deputy General Manager, outlined the evolution of the Instant Banking service in 2010 and the main innovations for the coming year

Madrid, 18 January 2011. In today’s press release Miguel Montes, Banco Sabadell’s Deputy General Manager and Pol Navarro, Director for Channels and Innovation, presented some of the main innovations due to be launched in 2011 in mobile banking and the Instant Banking strategic line, designed to offer customers multi-channel access to their financial products and services.
Instant Check, a pioneer service and unique in Spain
Among the principal innovations is the launching of Instant Check, a cheque paying-in which operates through photographing the cheque with a mobile phone camera, eliminating the need to go to a branch. The service is already available for several mobile platforms (iPhone and Android), and Banco Sabadell is the first European bank in launching this kind of service.
Android and Windows Phone applications and mobile phone payment
The Bank has also launched a new native version of its mobile bank application for Android and Windows Phone, the new Microsoft mobile phone operating system. The BS Mobile for Android application displays account information in graphic form, lets you access your favourite operations and also adapt your banking operations to any mobile appliance. It also finds branches and ATMs at any time through its geographical location, displaying the information on Google Maps or Google Street View. The application is available for Android mobile phones and tablets, using the same operating system.
Sabadell is also the first bank to give access to the social networks from Its native applications, with access to the bank’s own Youtube and Twitter and Facebook spaces.
During the press conference Montes also announced that the bank is working towards turning the mobile phone into a new payment solution.
Miguel Montes and Pol Navarro were very positive in their assessment of the first year of the BS Móvil service. As we have seen, during its first twelve months use has seen rapid growth and it has already become consolidated as one of the main channels for Banco Sabadell customers when accessing banking services. Among other figures mentioned were:
Over10% of remote users contact the bank through their mobile phone.
Almost 55,000 customers use BS Móvil every month.
There are 19,000 accesses to mobile banking every day.
